In practice, the basalt powder is obtained by ventilation and can be contaminated with other substances. Farina di Basalto® produced by Basalti Orvieto is obtained from the grinding of selected rocks and therefore no other foreign or materials elements are present. For this reason, with the Farina di Basalto® produced by Basalti Orvieto you can have the control of the application in agriculture, but you don’t get this with the powder. Furthermore, the Farina di Basalto® produced by Basalti Orvieto can be sprinkled with water, unlike the powder.
Farina di Basalto® is a range of products designed to offer solutions for sustainable agriculture. The raw material, coming from the deposit of Castel Viscardo (Italy), is a volcanic base rock, does not contain free crystalline silica, or asbestos minerals or other substances harmful to the environment or animal life. The FARINA DIBASALTO® can be used both in organic agriculture and in conventional agriculture.
The Farina di Basalto® is micronized not by ventilation but is obtained by mechanical milling of the pure mineral, using ceramic tools, without the addition of other minerals or substances, and without the use of materials containing washing water with flocculants, undesirable and harmful products in agriculture.
Its properties allow to enrich the agricultural soils, in particular those tired or exhausted by intensive cultivations, increasing and restoring mineral and organic fertility, facilitating the reconstitution of microbial microflora.
The glass structure and the high specific surface of the Farina di Basalto®, used in the foliar treatment, allow the immediate assimilation of the elements that compose them, such as silicon, potassium, iron, calcium and magnesium.
